Well, let us now take a close look at all the basic equipments that you should purchase from the outdoor gear shop and pack up into your baggage without fail for a smooth and safe camping trip.

1. Tent: Based on the number of people staying in a tent, select the perfect tent of the right size. The right size will not just give you a free space to sleep but also keep all your camping equipments inside.
2. Sleeping gear: A comfortable sleeping gear is one of the most essential things you need during an adventure trip. After an entire day of trekking and other camping activities, a cozy sleeping bag helps you relax and enjoy the beautiful camping adventure. However, you should always prefer selecting a lightweight sleeping bag which is easy to wrap and carry during your trekking.
3. Footwear: During a camp trip, having a good strong pair of footwear helps you make your movements easy and safe. Delicate shoes may simply tear off during a trekking session while the strong footwear is designed to withstand the roughest weathers.
4. Sunglasses: In a camping trip, we expose our eyes and skin the most to sun rays. Hence, it gets essential to protect our eyes from the strong rays of the sun while trekking across your camping area. Sunglasses are the best options to help you avoid the UV rays from affecting your eyes.
5. Headlight and lamps: While walking distances at night, wearing the headlights and holding a lamp helps you feel safer and avoid falling into pits.
6. Sealing bag: Rains in the hillside or during a camp is quite a common thing. Hence, it gets important to carry a sealing bag that can hold your cameras, mobile phones, GPS, etc. You can also dump your dirty clothes in the seal bag.

Maxpedition Camping Bags and Equipment

Established in 1988, Maxpedition has grown from a small workshop based company manufacturing hard use, heavy duty, military specification nylon gear to an international company supplying bags, pouches, cases, verispacks, waistpacks and other carrying solutions.

The term “Hard-Use Gear” is one coined by Maxpedition to convey that their products are built to withstand extreme conditions. Originally the company built premium grade military equipment to be used in demanding environments and situations, now they supply other serious users too.

What makes Maxpedition gear so rugged and durable is down to the quality of materials they select and use. The main material used is 1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant ballistic nylon fabric. The quality of fasteners are also second to none, using YKK high strength zippers and zipper tracks and Duraflex nylon buckles.

Strong and waterproof products are what Maxpedition endeavour to create. They are able to achieve this by not only using top quality buckles and zippers but also using high quality manufacturing processes.

The attention they give to detail is further demonstrated by the following points.

  • Internal seams taped and finished
  • Triple Polyurethane water resistant coating
  • High tensile strength nylon webbing and thread
  • High grade closed cell shock protective foam padding
  • Double stitched stress points

The type of people that Maxpedition Hard-Use Nylon Gear appeals to is diverse, from military personnel and police right through to outdoor photographers and extreme sportsman. The reason for this is due to the fact that these people expect quality and want the best.

Maxpedition have also thought about ease of maintenance. By treating the nylon fabric with Dupont Teflon their products easily resist water and grime ingress. Cleaning is simple, just wipe down with a damp cloth, then just allow to naturally dry.

Another benefit of Maxpedition equipment is that it’s designed to be modular. This means that using their “snap and anchor” system smaller bags and pouches can be combined with larger pieces of kit to provide a more integrated carrying solution.

Like all great companies Maxpedition does not stand still. With a leading edge research and development team they are continually testing and improving not only current products but also adding to their line-up, with three or four new products being released every season.

Camping – Fun for All Americans

Camping is an age-old American tradition practiced by all generations. Camping is a great way for the family to bond while they experience the majesty of the wilderness. There are numerous important items that one must bring on a camping trip, but none is more important than a tent.

There are many options for a tent when one decides to go camping. If you are camping in a national park, you may be able to rent one. This is a great idea for people who may only camp occasionally and do not see the value in purchasing one of their own.

If you are an avid camper, you will need to own your own tent. Depending on the size of your family, you may need a 4-man tent or you may need something as large as an 8-man tent. Numerous size choices available will give you the perfect fit for your party. Many of them are now available with fiberglass and steel frames that are very strong. These ones have resistance against strong rains, winds and other weather situations. Many options have waterproof floors, covered, and leak-free seams with zipper cuffs around the doors to keep you completely dry. These tents will not tip over easily or sway in the wind. This is incredibly important for the safety of your family. If you are looking for an even stronger and lightweight alternative, carbon fiber is your choice. Carbon fiber tents are relatively expensive when compared to fiberglass options, but weigh much less and are able to withstand several times the force. You can also find choices that are UV resistant to protect you and your family from harmful rays.

Modern tents often have several rooms for the different occupants. Larger tents, such as an 8-man tent, will come in two to three room options. This allows flexible space that may be used for a recreational area instead of using the tent for just sleeping space. Some tents provide modern conveniences that would be surprising to most campers. Tents are available with connections for electrical outlets, porches for outdoor living and interior storage pockets. The exterior materials in many tents are made of a privacy material that will prevent outsiders from being about to see into your tent.

3 Tips To Turn Weekend Camping Into a Mobile Home Experience

All over the world, people camp for a weekend escape and often dream of camping full-time. Here are 3 ways to tell if camping full-time is for you. We camp full-time because we love the lifestyle and freedom that comes with it. If you are tempted to consider your camper as your mobile home keep reading.

You may want to consider your camper as your mobile home.

Camping full-time has many advantages over the weekend campers. For 16 years, my wife and I only camped over weekends. It was fun and nice to get away and sit by a fire and relax. We loved it, but we wanted more, so every year we camped more and for longer stretches of time.

Now, we carry our home with us.

Just like a turtle, we have our home with us. Granted, it is more plush than a hard shell, and ever so convenient to have a shower. When we get done from a hike, we always have a bathroom, a kitchen and a bed with us. When you have your home, you get to carry nice sheets, towels, silverware and the regular household things. It doesn’t feel much like camping.

I think turtles are slow because they are enjoying the world around them.

Maybe, they just have it all figured out. If you travel slower, you get to enjoy the experiences a little more. Our very last trip as a weekend camper was 22 hours away. We drove non-stop, and I don’t remember anything about any state we went through. We were forcing the experience.

Time makes places reveal themselves.

In a week, you just start to relax and get comfortable with a place. In two weeks, you can get to feel and discover a lot of local places, and actually get to know people fairly well. In a month, a place can start to feel like a new home. If you take your time traveling you really can smell the roses.

Tips to see if your camper can be your mobile home.

  1. Go camping for as long as you can. For us, we took 10 days and camped by the ocean. It was long enough to get us hooked. Two weeks would be a great trial run.
  2. Use your vacation time for an extended stay somewhere wonderful; mountains, ocean, big trees, or giant canyons. The more different and dramatic, the better.
  3. Don’t bring everything, and go as basic as you can. Sometimes you have to do without. When you travel, half the fun is the peace that comes from not carrying so much stuff.
